Sculptra®

NONSURGICAL FACELIFT

You love dermal fillers because of their amazing ability to remove years off of your face and enhance your facial features – especially when administered by one of our talented nurse injectors. Often, this involves scheduling maintenance appointments at least every 6 months to a year or so.

We know. You want something that lasts longer, without resorting to surgery.

Hello, Sculptra!

Sculptra is a cosmetic injectable, just like dermal fillers, but it gives you much longer-lasting results in facial rejuvenation and sculpting.

Sculptra rejuvenates and revitalizes the skin with youthfulness and plumpness, while redefining the facial contours and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Compared to traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra is much longer lasting.

That’s right: results last 2 years or more!

Although the treatment requires two sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart, once the results have been achieved, the effects of Sculptra can last two years or longer. These effects can be extended even further by scheduling annual maintenance treatments.

WHAT CAN SCULPTRA TREAT?

This treatment at Therapeutic Aesthetics is perfect for you, if you have any of the following skin concerns or conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Smile lines
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Volume loss in the cheeks, temples and chin

The goal of Sculptra injections are to restore volume to shallow, sunken areas of the skin and to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines on the face. We do not recommend the use of Sculptra underneath the eyes (in the under-eye area) or in the lips. Sculptra is not a lip filler.

It is a professional cosmetic dermatological product and should only be administered by a qualified professional. You should never attempt to administer Sculptra on yourself at home. At Therapeutic Aesthetics, our nurse injectors are professionally trained, licensed nurses who are experts in cosmetic injection procedures. Our medical spa features hospital/clinic-grade facilities with an emphasis on hygiene and safety for our clients.

HOW DOES SCULPTRA WORK?

Sculptra contains a biocompatible and biodegradable compound called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which stimulates collagen production. It naturally works with your own body to revitalize collagen in the deepest layers of the dermis – the layer that provides structural stability to your skin. As your natural collagen starts to rebuild over time, you’ll see a noticeable improvement in facial volume and an improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

What to Expect During and After Your Sculptra Treatment

The first step is to book a complementary consultation with Therapeutic Aesthetics to determine if Sculptra is right for you. Once our expert medical team have established that you’re a suitable candidate, your expert injector will administer Sculptra to the treatment area(s) using a very fine needle. It’s normal to experience swelling, redness and tenderness immediately following the treatment. This should subside within a few days.

Keep in mind that any existing wrinkles will most likely reappear a few days post treatment, while the collagen replacement process is underway. But don’t worry! Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra does not produce dramatic results instantly. You will start seeing improvement in the treated areas within the first few weeks after each treatment session. We normally recommend at least two sessions for the most optimal outcome.

Our medical injector will send you home with a set of instructions known as the 5-5-5 rule:

You’ll be required to massage the treated area for five minutes, five times a day, for five days following your treatment.

This will help the product settle and prevent any lumps and bumps from forming. If you do develop a nodule, make sure to contact us immediately so that it can be corrected as soon as possible. This is rare, though.
