Body Sculpting

If, every time you look at yourself in the mirror, all you can see are the signs of ageing, we can help.

If you’ve noticed your skin sagging, losing elasticity, developing fine lines and wrinkles, or cellulite on your body – and you’re panicking – give us a call.

At Therapeutic Aesthetics, we recommend Venus Freeze if you experience the following issues:

  • loss of elasticity in your skin
  • early signs of fine lines, wrinkles, and/or saggy skin
  • cellulite

Venus Freeze is a non-surgical cosmetic technique which heats targeted tissues in your body to stimulate a specific type of skin cell called a fibroblast.

Fibroblasts are skin cells that produce collagen and elastin fibres for tighter, more youthful-looking skin. By stimulating these cells and kick-starting collagen and elastin production, Venus Freeze helps your skin look more healthy, radiant and youthful.

How Venus Freeze Works

Venus Freeze is a super high-tech cosmetic treatment. It uses multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to safely and comfortably heat the tissue located under the surface of the skin, stimulating your skin’s fibroblasts. The result is firmer, smoother skin.

Venus Freeze is safe for use on the whole body. It can also diminish the appearance of cellulite and/or sagging skin.

Venus Freeze also uses advanced technology to eliminate stubborn fat. Using a technology called Pulsed Electromagnetic Field, Venus Freeze is precisely able to target stubborn fat pockets that do not respond to exercise and dieting. Venus Freeze can be used all over the body, but it is especially effective to treat stubborn fat under the chin and the neck area, and clinical studies show a significant improvement in skin laxity.

Venus Freeze treatment is a safe, non-invasive and Health Canada-approved cosmetic treatment.

Are you looking to tone, firm, lift and build muscle in your stomach, arms, glutes, thighs or back? When diet and exercise aren’t enough, there’s no need to go to extremes to build muscle and tone up these areas. If you’re looking for great results without the risk, scarring, and hit to your social or work life, consider B-shape.

B-Shape is a non-surgical treatment that recontours your body through a deep remodelling of your muscles, thereby speeding up the rate at which your fat metabolizes. The result a tightening and toning of the target area.

The Toronto B-Shape treatment is ideal for our patients – both men and women – who wish to eliminate excess, stubborn and unwanted fat in their stomachs rapidly while toning and enhancing their abdominal and gluteal muscles.

B-shape is so unique because it reduces stubborn fat and builds muscle at the same time. It works by sending targeted electromagnetic pulses to the treatment area. These pulses result in the muscles of the body contracting powerfully – just like how they would if you were doing a high-intensity workout at the gym. This results in a build-up of lactic acid, which metabolizes glucose as well as attacks and breaks down your body’s fat cells. This also inspires the muscles to respond by remodeling the structural fibers of the muscle, increasing its mass, strength and density.

In one B-Shape T.M.C. session, your muscles will contract about 160,000 times. This burns fat, tones your muscles and can even improve the appearance of cellulite!

You eat right and do situps, crunches and planks but nothing gets rid of that belly bulge. At Therapeutic Aesthetics we have an alternative option without surgery!

Fat couldn’t be easier to get rid of. Our fat dissolving injections literally melt away fat, making it disappear. Those stubborn fat bulges? GONE.

Fat dissolving injections are also known as injection lipolysis or intralipotherapy. Fat dissolving injections are a minimally invasive medical procedure that achieves targeted fat reduction without surgery. The treatments are safe and effective at reducing the size of fat cells in the treated area. This means you can banish those annoying bits of excess, unwanted and stubborn fat – without having to subject yourself to crash diets or grueling gym workouts.

Fat dissolving injections are great for smaller, diet and exercise-resistant pockets of stubborn fat localized to your chin, abdomen/midsection, and thighs. Though this procedure is remarkably effective for targeted body contouring, it is not a suitable treatment for overall weight loss, nor is it a form of medical weight loss.

Fat dissolving injections are formulated with one primary active ingredient called deoxycholic acid. This naturally occurring, bio-safe compound precisely targets and destroys fat cells, breaking them apart. The destroyed fat cells are then passed through your body naturally. The best part is that once these fat cells are eliminated, they never return. Our fat dissolving injections permanently remove these fat cells from your body and in a few weeks, your stubborn fat will disappear forever.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for Venus Freeze?

You may be a candidate for Venus Freeze if you have stubborn fat and cellulite. To determine if you are an ideal candidate, schedule an appointment with one of our skincare professionals.

What can I expect when having Venus Freeze treatments performed at Therapeutic Aesthetics?

Most of our clients find Venus Freeze treatment to be relaxing and equate the sensation to a hot stone massage. The entire treatment lasts approximately 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Most patients receive about eight treatments spaced one week apart. However this can vary depending on your treatment plan.

Does Venus Freeze work for cellulite?

Venus Freeze is a non-surgical cellulite treatment that uses multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to safely and comfortably heat the tissue under the surface of the skin. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers, which firms and smooths the skin. It also decreases the amount of fat under the skin and improves blood circulation to the area. Overall, Venus Freeze can diminish the appearance of cellulite and/or sagging skin. Despite what many people believe, cellulite is not a sign of being overweight or unhealthy. It can affect anyone, regardless of their size or weight.Cellulite, more formally known as gynoid lipodystrophy, is a common condition that affects the appearance of skin, causing it to have a dimpled, lumpy, or “orange peel” texture. This uneven texture is a result of connective tissue bands pulling down the skin that sits above fat. It most often occurs in areas where there are large amounts of fat cells under the surface of your skin such as:

As many as 80-90% of women have cellulite and some women are more likely to develop cellulite than others. Men can also develop cellulite, however it is more common in women. Cellulite is categorized on a 0-3 scale:

Grade 0: no cellulite
Grade 1: cellulite only visible when sitting
Grade 2: cellulite visible while sitting and standing
Grade 3: cellulite visible and highly texturized

Factors such as genetics, body fat percentage, skin thickness, and age can all affect an individual’s risk of developing cellulite. In many cases, it is a combination of factors that results in the formation of cellulite.

Estrogen and progesterone are hormones that are believed to play a role in the development of cellulite. These hormones cause the fat cells to enlarge and increase their production of collagen, which can lead to the formation of cellulite.

Although men can develop cellulite, women are far more likely to struggle with cellulite. It is believed that this is due to the structural differences of fat cells in women and men. Women’s fat cells stand vertically under the skin, while men’s fat cells lie horizontally and flat. It is also believed that estrogen may also play a role in why cellulite is primarily seen in women.

Poor Circulation
Poor circulation can also contribute to the development of cellulite by preventing nutrients and oxygen from reaching the tissues below the skin. This can cause the cells to become starved for oxygen and nutrients, which can lead to the breakdown of collagen and other proteins.

As we get older, our skin loses its elasticity and becomes thinner. This makes it more likely for cellulite to develop and be noticeable.

Some experts also believe that cellulite can form as part of a connective tissue disorder caused by inflammation. This is because immune cells linked to inflammation have been found within cellulite-affected tissue. However, this theory is still being researched.

What can I expect after my Venus Freeze treatment?

After your treatment, you can expect to feel relaxed. There is no downtime associated with Venus Freeze treatment, and you can immediately return to your usual routine. In some cases, you may notice some redness and/or warmth around the treatment area, but this should fade within a couple of hours. After the final session in your treatment series, your results will continue for about 3-4 months. Since this treatment does not stop the aging process, however, maintenance treatments may be recommended.

Am I a candidate for B-Shape?

Ideal candidates for the procedure should stubborn fat that measures a maximum of 7 cm in the target area. You may have tried to work out and eat right but that stubborn fat just won’t go away.

This is great for toning harder to reach muscles too, making it a complementary procedure for those who already work out.

What is the B-Shape treatment like?

You won’t feel any pain during your treatment. All you’ll feel are muscle contractions in the target area.

The treatment takes about an hour and you won’t break a sweat. All you’ll have to do is lie back and relax.

What can I expect after receiving the B-Shape treatment?

You’ll feel relaxed after your treatment, much like you may do after a good workout. Some soreness may exist but it’ll go away in a day or two. There is no recovery period so you can get back to your regular activities immediately.

You’ll notice results in about 1-2 sessions, with a continuous improvement for up to a month afterward.

Am I a candidate for fat dissolving injections?

Almost everyone can be a good candidate for fat dissolving injections, with some exceptions. Fat dissolving injections are a perfect treatment for you if you are already maintaining a reasonably healthy lifestyle and you are close to your ideal body weight but if you experience stubborn areas of unwanted, excess fat that are preventing you from achieving your ideal figure.

Our clients come to us from the Greater Toronto Area and beyond to treat their double chins, inner thighs, “cankles”, or ankle fat, or the abdomen/stomach/midsection. Fat dissolving injections are a perfect treatment to define your six-pack.

If you are well above your ideal body weight, we do not recommend fat dissolving injections. However, at Therapeutic Aesthetics, we offer a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatments to help you achieve the body of your dreams, and we would be delighted to recommend the right procedure for you during your initial consultation.

You are not a suitable candidate for fat dissolving injections if you have diabetes, liver or kidney disease, any other serious and chronic health conditions or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We strongly recommend that you avoid this treatment if you have an active skin concern in the desired treatment area (such as acne or a Herpes outbreak), or if you are taking any blood thinning medications or supplements.

How do Fat Dissolving Injections work?

Fat dissolving injections contain the active ingredient, deoxycholic acid. This natural, biosafe compound precisely targets and dissolves your body fat cells by separating the fat molecules into tiny particles. These molecular particles are then passed through your body’s natural waste. The most exciting aspect of this treatment is that once the fat leaves your body, it is never coming back.

How do I prepare for the Fat Dissolving Injections treatment?

The following tips, compiled through our many years of experience, will ensure that your fat dissolving injections procedure is safe and goes smoothly.

For one week before your treatment, avoid blood thinning medications. This includes medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil. This will help minimize any bruising you might experience during your treatment. You should also have paracetamol available because you may need it following your treatment.

Buy supportive garments, but avoid wearing tight clothing during your treatment. The extra support from your supportive garments will help you feel more comfortable and at ease following your treatment. Tight clothing, of course, will do the exact opposite. We recommend that following your treatment, you wear loose and supportive clothing for as long as you need to.

Attend your appointment with a clean treatment area. Avoid using any makeup, skincare, or any products on the area to be treated. We will need a blank canvas on which to administer your treatment.

What are some post-care tips for recovery from Fat Dissolving Injection treatments?

Here are some of the top tips that we share with our clients to help them prepare for their fat dissolving injection recovery:

Here’s what not to do:

  • Do not touch the treatment area. The treatment area will be highly sensitized following your fat dissolving injections treatment. You definitely do not want to touch or press the treatment area for at least 24 hours (or as directed) following your treatment, as that may trigger hyper-inflammation or the introduction of bacteria, which can cause a bacterial infection.
  • Avoid exposing your skin to high temperatures. You should avoid exposing your skin to high temperatures, including avoiding the sauna, steam room, and very hot showers/baths, as the heat may trigger inflammation or bacterial infection, for a least one week following your treatment.
  • Avoid exercise and sport massage. This is for the same reason as the previous point. Avoid these things until you feel ready, which should be at least one week following your treatment.
  • Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications. Until advised by our expert medical team, avoid these medications because they may interfere with your healing process.
  • Avoid drinking or smoking. Until advised by our expert medical team, avoid drinking or smoking because they may interfere with your healing process.

Now that we’ve covered what not to do, here’s what you can or should do:

  • Cleansing the target area and taking light, cool showers are allowable on the day of your treatment. These steps, in addition to wearing make-up, will not interfere with the healing process.
  • Follow a healthy, balanced diet, adequate hydration, and a good exercise regimen. To ensure that you optimize and maximize your beautiful results, you must maintain your weight with a good, healthy, balanced, and low-fat diet, adequate hydration (eight glasses of water a day!) , and a good exercise regimen.
